Center What?
- Centerset - faucet requires only one hole for installation. Extra holes may be covered with the
use of a deckplate (escutcheon), sink hole covers, or accessories such as soap dispensors, or hot
water dispensors. Deckplates come in two sizes; 10" for the kitchen; 6" for the lavatory. This
type of faucet is popular with European manufacturers and American kitchen faucets.
- 4"center - conventional lavatory faucet which has handles and spout sitting on an integral base
This model can be either two handled or single handled.
- 8"center or Widespread - handles are seperated from spout. Be careful, some models require an
exact 8"center, while others are flexible for 8" to 16"centers. The latter makes installation and
replacement more convenient as well as more forgiving if holes have been drilled im- properly.
- Mini-Widespread - these are models where the handles and spouts are seperate, like an 8"
center, but fit into a 4"center sink. Intended primarily for remodelers wishing to have the
widespread look on an existing 4" sink. Although this model gives the appearance of a wide-
spread please be aware that its' component size is smaller in comparison.
