Aquapex systems use Wirsbo's state of the art Engel Method cross-linked polyethylene tubing or PEX. Aquapex tubing is the durable, flexible, opaque water supply tubing that is the future of plumbing. Free of lead, copper and other contaminants, Aquapex tubing is completely safe for you family. The tubing also provides better insulation then metal plumbing materials, making it quiet and keeping hot water lines hot longer. With over a quarter century of quality service, Aquapex is a plumbing system you can trust.
A Proven Track Record
Aquapex tubing has been used in plumbing systems around the world for over 25 years, longer than any other flexible plumbing system on the market. In fact, more than 2 billion feet of Aquapex tubing is in use worldwide for radiant floor heating and plumbing applications in homes, apartments, hotels, condominiums and commercial buildings. That's enough to circle the globe at the equator 16 times! Accelerated testing of Aquapex tubing shows that it has a system life of well over 100 years.
While other flexible plumbing systems have come and gone, only Aquapex has provided continuous, assured performance for over 25 years.
A Safe Plumbing System For Your Family
Scientific studies show that lead, copper and other toxins can leach into drinking water from plumbing systems. Aquapex tubing is completely clean and healthy. That means the pure drinking water running through your plumbing system stays pure. Aquapex tubing does not corrode or scale, even in areas that have aggressive water. Aquapex tubing is also unaffected by corrosive soil conditions, making it ideal for burial.
AQUAPEX - A Superior Tube
The heart of the Wirsbo Aquapex system is the tubing. Wirsbo's cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing is unlike any other type of plastic. Cross-linking makes it extremely flexible, durable and able to withstand high temperatures and pressures.
Wirsbo AQUAPEX tubing has been used in radiant floor heating and plumbing systems around the world for over 25 years, longer than any other flexible plumbing system on the market. Its unique properties give it many advantages over rigid metal and other plastic plumbing systems.
WIRSBO'S PROPEX FITTING SYSTEM
The ProPEX fitting system, developed specifically for use with AQUAPEX tubing, is a revolutionary advancement in fitting technology.
ProPEX technology puts to work the shape memory of AQUAPEX tubing. The result is a simple, inexpensive and incredibly strong connection. In fact, stretch tests demonstrate that the ProPEX connection is stronger than the tube itself.
The shape memory of AQUAPEX tubing reforms the expanded tubing to its original shape. The AQUAPEX tubing and a PEX ring compress over the ProPEX fitting for a connection that is permanent, leak proof, and reliable.
ProPEX installation is quick and easy. It doesn't require the use of a torch, messy glue, or a go/no go gauge. Best of all, ProPEX allows for visual inspection, so plumbing professionals can see immediately that they have made a successful connection.
ProPEX fittings are listed to ASTM standard F877 and are CAN/CSA (B137.5) approved for use in AQUAPEX potable water distribution systems.
ProPEX and PLS... A Perfect Fit
The reliability of ProPEX has always been available in brass. Now Wirsbo introduces a durable high quality plastic fitting made out of a durable materials called polysulfone (PLS)
Used successfully for over 10 years in pluming applications, PLS is proven clean, chemically resistant, and able to withstand extreme temperatures and pressures.
AQUAPEX tubing and PLS ProPEX fittings do not corrode or scale, even in areas that have aggressive water and soil. This eliminates concerns with the pinholes leaks that can occur in plumbing systems that use copper pipe.
